I took over the development of rdeverterra.ca to sharpen and improve their online presence. While the site was already built with a fantastic framework, I focused on making it as fast as possible to reach sub-500ms load times. My goal was to give this Kemptville business a professional edge with top-tier search engine rankings and a lightning-fast experience for every visitor.
RD Everterra needed a website that looked as professional as the high-end landscaping work they do across Eastern Ontario. After taking over the project from another developer, my goal was to take the existing foundation and turn it into a much faster, more reliable site.

Design Process
When taking over an existing project, the goal is to keep what works while fixing what doesn't. For RD Everterra, I started by reviewing the existing code to find exactly what was slowing the site down.
While the framework used for the original site is very powerful, it can sometimes be "overkill" for a local business website. I adjusted the setup so the site runs as a lightweight, permanent set of files with no complex database slowing things down in the background. I also updated how the project photos are handled, using modern image formats that keep the pictures looking sharp while making sure they load instantly on any device.
